Focus on a “green” engineering aspect of Circuit Builder. This relates to wire size calculation – the long-term environmental cost of using a minimum wire size versus over-sizing conductors to reduce accumulated IR heating losses in the conductors. Also look at Circuit Builder’s ability to split a set of large diameter conductors into multiple smaller conductors per phase to potentially reduce the total amount of copper used in the circuit. Will show various scenarios and the potential cost savings, both in reduced heating released into the environment and reduced copper usage.

This webcast will cover the full range of the cable and conductor features within AutoCAD Electrical. This includes setting up the catalog database file with cable part numbers and conductor lists, insertion and tracking of cable conductor assignments on the schematics, suppressing wire numbers on cable wires, support for various cable representations inserted into wires, tracking conductors used in a cable, and various cable reports. The cable capabilities in AutoCAD Electrical will also be reviewed relative to the cable and harness features in the Autodesk® Inventor® product line
